Before flames could consume the cave, he bounded towards the entrance.

A heinous laugh echoed throughout the tunnel. Rebounding off the crumpling walls, a sense of sorrow overwhelmed him. The cavern wormed its way half a mile into the mountain. Its general shape was ovoid, the walls below the ridge smoothly curved to the floor, the walls above arched another hundred feet up to giant stalactites and the bat roosts.
Dragan leaped into mid-air and fell outside the cave onto the forest floor. Mark limped towards the clearing. Hadrian could see dark shapes swarming around him. He ran faster and faster.
That’s when he saw a shooting star falling down and yelped when he saw it was coming at him. The star was encased in pure blue electricity and purple streaks hurtling down at him at inhuman speed.
The impact put him off-balance, and he fell onto the ground hard. It crashed into the ground a mere foot away from him, a 30-metre-wide crater, and in the middle of it, he saw an orange strongbox covered with strange glyphs. The box was glowing ominously.
Hadrian wanted to run away, but he could not. He stepped closer, shivers rippled across his body. Mark touched the box; the glow grew brighter.
Wind streamed through the forest, clutching the scattered pieces of ragged stones and dry twigs, twirling them in the air. Hadrian felt something moving inside his pocket. Mark clutched and brought out the biggest horror of his life. He held out the golden chest, the same as the one the mysterious lady had protected and had thrown at him.
The golden chest exploded, revealing a sapphire stone with etched marks. The stone seemed to glow brighter and pulled towards the strongbox.
A curved indentation seemed to appear at the top of the box. Suddenly, the stone was pulled into the curvature along with him. The glyphs shone with unnatural luminosity, blinding him. The strong box creaked and revealed a purple oval egg inside.
He touched the egg, and pain flared up in his hand. A seething mist seemed to appear again, and in it, he could see a cave. It was a cave mouth of impenetrable blackness. As he stepped in, he watched his shadow dissolve into the surrounding darkness. Suddenly, blue thunder crackled and fell onto him.
